Pets at Home Launch

Marro is a UK-based Fresh cat food brand offering human-grade, responsibly sourced meals via subscription.

As Marro’s in-house creative designer, I have been responsible for supporting the launch of our products in the Pets at Home store chain.

This ultimately resulted in several distinct briefs.

Packaging

Marro’s subscription packaging is designed as a playful little mansion for cats to sleep or play in. With Pets at Home, the question arose about what the packaging should be, since the boxes would be much smaller.

Because the visual is so iconic, I decided to retain it as a key motif and envisioned the next boxes as smaller “mansions,” serving as a variation of the original design.

Freezer

The design needed to be highly eye-catching for both our feline customers and their human servants, incorporating all the essential product touchpoints while still evoking Marro’s signature sense of whimsy.

Launch Campaign

While the Pets at Home launch was underway, we were also developing a new concept for narrative-driven video content. We decided to tie everything together by creating a Wes Anderson–style video series featuring the Marro team delivering pouches and a golden ticket to the stores.

Costumes

I created a mood board with Mariam to guide the clothing choices for the video. We then personally sourced and purchased the outfits for the shoot, which also served as the starting point for our wardrobe in future lifestyle shoots.

Both videos were a huge success, with audiences responding very positively to this new direction and asking for more. What made it even better was that we produced everything in-house, keeping costs low while achieving extremely strong results.
